The bench of <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/cji\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CJI<\/a> DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra said that there is no material to show that the results of the NEET-UG are vitiated entirely and that there was a systemic breach in its sanctity.<!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=toppotime:2-->The apex court said realised that directing a fresh NEET-UG for the present year would be replete with serious consequences which will be for over 24 lakh students who appeared in this exam.<\/p>\n<p>The top court added that data on record does not indicate systemic leak of question paper of NEET-UG 24.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the court received the IIT Delhi Report. The director Prof Banerjee constituted a committee from the department of Physics, they say a team of three experts examined the question. They say option 4 is the correct answer. <\/p>\n<p>The bench of bench of CJI DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra said the committee has opined clearly that there was only 1 option which is option 4. So <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/nta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NTA<\/a> was correct in its answer key which was option 4. <\/p>\n<p>The bench said that it accepted the report of the IIT Delhi. It ordered NTA torevise the result of the NEET UG 2024 on the basis of the option 4 as extracted above is the only correct option.  The question reads: Given below are two statements: Statement I: Atoms are electrically neutral as they contain equal number of positive and negative charges. Statement II: Atoms of each element are stable and emit their characteristic spectrum.<br \/> &#8220;In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:<br \/> (1) Statement I is incorrect but Statement II is correct.<br \/> (2) Both Statement I and Statement II are correct.<br \/> (3) Both Statement I and Statement II are incorrect.<br \/> (4) Statement I is correct but Statement II is incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the apex court ordered the director of IIT Delhi to form a three-member panel to answer the correct option of a question in a particular set. The answer would affect the result of 4 lakh students.<\/p>\n<p>The NTA released marks centre wise on July 20, without revealing the identity of students as per the order of the top court on July 18.<\/p>\n<p>An analysis of results indicated that the candidates who allegedly benefitted from the paper leak and other irregularities did not do well. Some centres, however, showed high concentration of well-performing students, it revealed.<\/p>\n<p>The data of over 32 lakh candidates from 4,750 centres was not released in a cumulative format but in a drop-down menu for each centre. The data was released on the direction of the Supreme Court which is hearing several petitions over the alleged irregularities as lakhs of aspirants await a final verdict on the fate of the exam.<\/p>\n<p>The performance of the candidates from the centres under the scanner &#8212; such as Oasis School, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, Hardayal Public School, Jhajjar, Haryana, Jay Jalaram International School in Godhra, Gujarat &#8212; were comparatively much below par.<\/p>\n<p>NEET-UG, conducted by NTA, is a nation-wide examination for admissions into <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/mbbs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MBBS<\/a>, BDS and AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The NEET-UG, 2024 was held across 4,750 centres on May 5 and around 24 lakh candidates appeared in it.
