The Haryana shooter will also look to break a jinx or two.<br \/>With a score of 580, Manu, 22, became the first Indian woman pistol shooter to enter an Olympic final and third woman overall after Anjali Bhagwat (Sydney 2000) and Suma Shirur (Athens 2004) in the 10m air rifle category. <br \/>She has also become the third air pistol shooter overall to enter the 10m final in three consecutive <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/sports\/tokyo-olympics-2021\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" frmappuse=\"1\">Olympics<\/a>. However, in both cases, the previous two couldn\u2019t win medals and finished eighth. <br \/>Jitu Rai, India\u2019s top shot in the Rio Olympics in 2016 had also made it to the 10m air pistol final. The armyman, who was in his top form, could not go beyond eighth place, while unfancied Vietnamese Hoang Xuan Vinh became his country\u2019s first-ever gold medallist. <br \/>In Tokyo, India\u2019s best shooter Saurabh Chaudhary had raised India\u2019s hopes when he entered the eight-man final after topping the field with a score of 586. The jinx continued to dash India\u2019s hopes as Saurabh finished seventh, while another first-timer Javad Foroughi of Iran clinched gold. <br \/>For Manu, there is good news and bad. Barring China\u2019s Jiang Ranxin, who had won bronze in the same event at Tokyo and 10m air pistol mixed event gold, her other six competitors have never won a medal at the Olympics. <br \/>However, this could make the field even stronger as everybody would want to win their first medal. <br \/>Manu had a nightmarish exit in Tokyo after she finished 12th after a pistol malfunction in the 10m air event and 15th in the 25m pistol event.
