A resident of Jakhepal, Gyan Singh, was one of the hooch tragedy victims. Three of the accused arrested in the spurious liquor deaths case were also from Jakhepal.<br \/>Police on Tuesday said Inderdeep was suspected to have died of a drug overdose or he committed suicide by consuming excess painkillers.Sunam DSP Mandeep Singh, when contacted, said matter was being probed and the reason would be clear after the post-mortem reports were out.<br \/>Krishan Jakhepal, a villager from Jakhepal, said, \u201cThe deceased\u2019s father had died sometime back and his brother is behind bars in some cases. He has left behind his ailing mother now.\u201d<br \/><span class=\"strong\">54k litres lahan destroyed<\/span><br \/>Bathinda: After 21 persons lost their lives in Sangrur district due to consumption of spurious liquor, the Punjab Police along with the state excise department have started a campaign to trace linkages to lahan (fermented material used for distilling liquor) and to destroy it. The Ferozepur police on Monday inspected some secluded places along the Satluj river and traced and destroyed 32,000 litres of lahan buried in the ground in plastic sheets and iron drums. The Muktsar police, meanwhile, on Tuesday recovered nearly 22,000 litres of lahan from Kattianwali village in the Lambi assembly segment.
