National Security Advisor Ajit Doval<\/a> and senior military officials met former Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina<\/a> at the Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad on Monday. Indian Air Force and other security agencies are providing security to her and she is being moved to a safe location, reported ANI quoting sources.<\/p>\n

During the meet, Sheikh Hasina held discussions with NSA Ajit Doval on the present situation in Bangladesh and her future course of action. Indian Air Force has put its personnel on alert in every eastern sector, in view of the present developments, the news agency further added.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Hasina landed in the Delhi-NCR airbase on Monday evening and reportedly will be travelling to London, where she has sought political asylum after violent protests gripped Bangladesh and forced the decade-long leader to resign from her position. <\/p>\n

Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the ongoing political crisis in the neighbouring country.<\/p>\n

Advisor and son to former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, Sajeeb Wazed on Monday condemned the violent protests that have gripped the country and led to the prime minister resigning and fleeing abroad. Sharing a video statement on X, the politician said that an interim and unelected government would lead to the reversal of over a decades’ progress that the country has made under Sheikh Hasina, and will become more like Pakistan.<\/p>\n

“You know about the crisis in our country. My request now is to our law enforcement agency…our military to make sure our citizens, our country and Constitution are safe. Our Supreme Court has said that a non-elected cannot rule for even a minute. If we cannot do that, we will become like Pakistan. Our 15 years’ progress will be destroyed. Bangladesh won’t be able to return from it. I don’t want that, you don’t want that. For as long as I can, I won’t let that happen,” he said.
