A total of 7,083 ECIRs or <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/enforcement-case-information-reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enforcement Case Information Reports<\/a> have been filed by the agency till July 31, <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/minister-of-state-for-finance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">minister of state for finance<\/a> Pankaj Chaudhary said in a written reply to a question asked in the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/rajya-sabha\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rajya Sabha<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=toppotime:1--> &#8220;The rate of conviction obtained under <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/pmla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PMLA<\/a> is around ninety-three per cent,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p> PMLA stands for the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/prevention-of-money-laundering-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prevention of Money Laundering Act<\/a> and it was enacted in 2002 and implemented from July 1, 2005. <\/p>\n<p> The minister also said that assets worth more than Rs 1.39 lakh crore were either seized, frozen or attached under the law. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The total value of proceeds seized under PMLA is approximately Rs 3,725.76 crore, frozen under PMLA is approximately Rs 4,651.68 crore and attached under PMLA is approximately Rs 1,31,375 crore,&#8221; the minister said.<!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=botpotime:2--><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/india\/conviction-rate-under-pmla-is-93-pc-govt\/articleshow\/112318012.cms\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The rate of conviction obtained in money laundering cases by the the Enforcement Directorate is 93 per cent, the government informed Parliament on Tuesday.
