Paris Olympics 2024, Day 13 LIVE Updates:<\/strong> Welcome to ABP Live\u2019s live coverage of India’s action on Day 13 of the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. Well, we all can agree that the Indian fans had a traumatising Day 12, which was marred with immense controversy, as Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the final of the Women’s Freestyle 50kg category in the event of Wrestling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspite of many appeals and attempts from IOA to overturn the verdict, Vinesh Phogat failed to contest the final, as she was deemed ‘overweight’ by the officials by the margin of 100 grams. Such a heartbreaking manner of disqualification broke the Indian wrestler, who has now announced her retirement from the sport.<\/p>\n

Now with Vinesh Phogat’s elimination, India’s chances of an assured gold or silver medal vanished on Day 12, and all the hopes now lie on the ‘immensely strong’ shoulders of the Golden Boy of India with the Golden Arm, as Neeraj Chopra defends his Olympic title tonight in the Men’s Javelin Throw Final.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar have been impressive in their Golf event, and are very much in contention of making into the next round.<\/p>\n

One major highlight alongside Neeraj Chopra is India Men’s Hockey Team, who suffered an agonisingly close defeat to Germany in the semi-finals, and will now contest for Bronze medal in their match against Spain tonight.<\/p>\n
