The 4th India-Vietnam Maritime Security Dialogue<\/a> was held on 16 August 2024, at Hanoi close on the heels of Vietnam PM visit<\/a> to India. <\/p>\n

The Indian delegation was led by Muanpuii Saiawi, Joint Secretary, Disarmament & International Security Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and the Vietnamese delegation by Trinh Duc Hai, Vice Chairman, National Boundary Commission.<\/p>\n

During the dialogue, the two sides discussed the ways to enhance maritime cooperation<\/a> in furthering a conducive environment for mutual growth and global well-being, according to a MEA statement. <\/p>\n

They reviewed the ongoing cooperation initiatives in the maritime domain and discussed the avenues to cooperate at various international and regional fora for shared objectives. <\/p>\n

They agreed to further strengthen their shared efforts in areas such as Marine Scientific Research<\/a>, Ocean Economy<\/a>, Humanitarian Assistance<\/a> and Disaster Relief<\/a> (HADR), Navy and Coast Guard cooperation and maritime law enforcement.<\/p>\n

Strengthening maritime security partnership<\/a> was one of the outcomes of the Vietnam PM’s recent visit to India.
