Kieron Pollard, the former West Indies all-rounder who plied his trades for Southern Brave in The Hundred Men\u2019s Competition 2024, pulled out the iconic gunpoint celebration inspired by Yusuf Dikec, the Turkish Olympian who went viral for his calm demeanour at the Paris Games where he won a silver in shooting. Notably, Kieron Pollard\u2019s Southern Brave faced a 17-run defeat to Oval Invincibles in the tournament final on August 18 (Sunday).<\/p>\n

Pollard executed the celebration after taking a straightforward catch to dismiss Donovan Ferreira of the Invincibles, emulating the viral gesture of the Turkish silver medallist.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coming back to the Hundred, Oval Invincibles defended their Hundred Men\u2019s Competition title with a 17-run win over the Southern Brave in the final. The Invincibles, led by Sam Billings, set a target of 148 after recovering from a mid-innings slump to finish at 147-9. Despite a solid start from the Brave, who were 57-0, they faltered and ended at 130 all out, with Saqib Mahmood taking three key wickets. Sam Curran was named Player of the Tournament for scoring 201 runs and taking 17 wickets, while Mahmood earned Man of the Match for his performance in the final.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
