Kangana Ranaut<\/a> has approached the police after receiving alarming death threats on social media as the release of her upcoming film Emergency draws near. The movie, set to hit theatres on September 6, features Kangana in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A recent video circulating online has raised concerns for the actress’s safety. In the video, a man threatens Kangana, saying, “If you release this movie, Sardars will beat you with slippers. You’ve already been slapped. I\u2019m a proud Indian, and if I see you anywhere in my country, especially in Maharashtra, we, along with our Hindu, Christian, and Muslim brothers, will welcome you with slippers.”<\/p>\n

Another individual in the video issues a stern warning: “History cannot be altered. If Sikhs are depicted as terrorists in the film, remember what happened to the one you\u2019re portraying. Don\u2019t forget who Satwant Singh and Beant Singh were. We know how to break the finger that points at us… If we can sacrifice our heads, we can also take one.”<\/p>\n

The video has sparked widespread concern on social media, with many users expressing worry for Kangana’s safety. One user commented, “What\u2019s happening in our country? Kangana Ranaut, a BJP<\/a> MP and Bollywood actress, is being threatened for simply portraying India\u2019s history. In response to the threats, Kangana shared the video on Twitter and tagged the police departments of Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Punjab, urging them to investigate.<\/p>\n
