NEW DELHI: England\u2019s superstar batter Joe Root<\/a> has etched his name in the record books on Saturday during the second Test against Sri Lanka at Lord\u2019s.

England\u2019s top century-maker:<\/span> Root scored his 34th Test century, surpassing Alastair Cook to become the highest century-maker for England in Test cricket.This feat has put him among the cricketing legends, only behind Sachin Tendulkar<\/a>, Jacques Kallis<\/a>, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, and Rahul Dravid<\/a> in terms of centuries.
Twin hundreds at Lord\u2019s:<\/span> Root is also one of the few players who have scored centuries in both innings of a Test at Lord’s. He joins the likes of George Headley, Graham Gooch<\/a>, and Michael Vaughan. <\/p>\n

Most runs at Lord\u2019s:<\/span> With these achievements, Root now holds the record for the most runs scored in Test matches at Lord’s.
