A tragic incident occurred on Saturday night when 19-year-old student at Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University<\/a>, was found dead in her hostel room, leaving the university community shocked. <\/p>\n

Anika Rastogi<\/a>, a third-year BA LLB (Hons) student, reportedly died from cardiac arrest<\/a>, TOI reported.<\/p>\n

Rastogi was the daughter of a 1998 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer currently serving with the National Investigation Agency<\/a> (NIA). <\/p>\n

In an official statement, the university expressed its sorrow: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely demise of Ms. Anika Rastogi, a third-year BA LLB (Hons) student, who passed away last night around 10 pm due to cardiac arrest.”<\/p>\n

Further investigations into the incident are underway.<\/p>\n

Last week, a student from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai was found dead at his apartment. Anurag Jaiswal had gone to a party with his friends in Vashi last night and returned home late at night. When he did not wake up in the morning, he was taken to a local hospital in Chembur, where he was declared dead, as per the police<\/p>\n

While the matter is being investigated, the officials suspected that the student might have been ragged. <\/p>\n

In another incident, a 23-year-old MTech student at IIT Guwahati, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging in her hostel room on August 9, 2024. <\/p>\n

Her friends raised the alarm after noticing her absence from classes. The police are investigating the incident, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. This marks the third unnatural student death at the institute this year. <\/p>\n
