The ministry of labour and employment<\/a> has reached out to several ministries including the ministry of panchayati raj (MoPR), ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) and the ministry of rural development (MoRD) among others to register the unorganised workers<\/a> under their ambit on eShram portal, at the earliest.<\/p>\n

The drive to fast-track onboarding of unorganised workers on the portal is being done as the ministry develops the e-Shram portal<\/a> as a one-stop solution to extend all scheme benefits to these workers.<\/p>\n

The portal has over 300 million unorganized workers registered till date since its launch in 2021. The ministry had initially estimated 370 million unorganised workers in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government envisages establishing the eShram portal as a one-stop-solution to facilitate seamless access of various government schemes to the unorganised workers,\u201d the ministry said in a statement issued on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will help in creating awareness of the schemes meant for unorganised workers while ensuring saturation of the schemes through identification of left-out potential beneficiaries,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

As part of the \u2018eShram – One Stop Solution\u2019 project, the ministry will integrate major schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana<\/a> (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Ayushman Bharat<\/a> \u2013 Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor\u2019s Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G), Ration Card scheme etc. under the portal for the benefit of the unorganised workers.Besides, it will also enable a two-way integration of Skill India Digital Hub<\/a> (SIDH) and eShram to enable eShram and SIDH registrants to seamlessly register on either portal and access the services being offered by these portals.According to the statement, the focus will be to bring on board all unorganised workers, including health workers like ASHA workers, anganwadi workers and those in working in villages, gram panchayats or gram sabha or parishads, building and construction projects including workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme and other similar workers.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor this purpose, regular inter-ministerial meetings are being held by the ministry with senior officers from various ministries and departments including department of financial services (DFS), ministry of housing and urban affairs (MoHUA), ministry of rural development (MoRD), ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH), department of fisheries (DoF), National Health Authority (NHA), among others,\u201d it said. <\/p>\n

\u201cRespective ministries and departments have been requested to integrate their schemes with eShram portal for the comprehensive development of the unorganised workers,\u201d it added.
