The federal agency has provisionally attached 52.11 acres of land in the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/gurugram\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gurugram<\/a> district of Haryana. The investigation pertains to a company named <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/oyester-buildwell-private-limited\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oyester Buildwell Private Limited<\/a> (OBPL) whose beneficial owner is Gautam Thapar, it said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p><!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=toppotime:1-->The case filed by the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/enforcement-directorate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enforcement Directorate<\/a> (ED) under various sections of the Prevention of <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/definition\/money-laundering\" rel=\"noopener\">Money Laundering<\/a> Act (<a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/pmla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PMLA<\/a>) stems from a <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/cbi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBI<\/a> FIR against Thapar, OBPL and the businessman&#8217;s other company Avantha Realty Ltd. <\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that they &#8220;cheated&#8221;, and committed &#8220;forgery&#8221; for misappropriation of public money between 2017 and 2019 and caused a loss of Rs 466.51 crore to the Yes Bank.<\/p>\n<p>According to ED, OBPL obtained a loan of Rs 514.27 crore in 2018 from Yes Bank Ltd. based on &#8220;sham&#8221; O&amp;M (operations and maintenance) agreements. <\/p>\n<div data-grx-impression=\"Article Recommendations - Edit#articleshow_inline_impression#news\/india\/ed-attaches-rs-78-cr-worth-land-parcels-owned-by-gautam-thapar-in-bank-fraud-case | \" class=\"ar_wrp arwd_ld_chk font_mon clr hide custom_ad\">\n<div class=\"ar_survey hide\">\n<p><span class=\"arb_btn\"><span class=\"ar_lt_arr\">\u00ab<\/span> Back to recommendation stories<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/article_recommendations_wd.cms?msid=113149089&wd_type=inner&art_seo=news\/india\/ed-attaches-rs-78-cr-worth-land-parcels-owned-by-gautam-thapar-in-bank-fraud-casepotime:2-->&#8220;Out of this loan amount, Rs 14.11 crore was retained by Yes Bank as loan processing charge and the balance amount of Rs 500.11 crore was transferred by OBPL to its sister concerns in the guise of sham O&amp;M agreements&#8221;, the agency alleged.<br \/>Since the said loan was given under &#8220;dubious&#8221; circumstances, it eventually became an NPA (non-performing asset) for the bank, and only Rs 47.75 crore could be recovered and &#8220;proceeds of crime&#8221; to the tune of Rs 466.51 crore remained unrecoverable, it said.
