He was an ex-serviceman in the Army. The former Indian Army soldier was killed after he accidentally crossed the \u201cbuffer zone\u201d between the Meitei and <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/kuki\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kuki<\/a> areas in ethnic violence-hit Manipur late on Sunday night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sources added the former Havaldar in the Assam Regiment, Mate was driving a car. Police recovered his body on Monday. It looks like he was beaten to death.<\/p>\n<p>One lady, namely Nengjakhol Haokip Thangbuh village was killed during the attack due to splinter injuries in a bomb attack in the village. Police sources added, \u201cOn Sunday one Kuki village, Thangbuh was partially burnt down in Kangpokpi. The village is in the foothills near Bishnupur town in the valley. CRPF troops guarding the village retaliated against the militants.
