They also have concerns around wage revision and want the company to hold talks with the union.<br \/>The union, affiliated with CITU, was formed two months ago at the <!-- -->Samsung Electronics<!-- --> plant at <!-- -->Sunguvarchatram<!-- -->, near Sriperumbudur, west of Chennai.The Union is yet to be registered under the Registrar of Unions. E <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/muthukumar\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" frmappuse=\"1\">Muthukumar<\/a>, president of the union, said, &#8220;Our demands were not met and the management has urged us to disband the union. They are hindering the recognition of the union by raising complaints. When the union took a decision to stop overtime, the management forced employees to work overtime up to 11 hours.<br \/>A senior official with the state labour department said the employee union\u2019s application is in process. \u201cCurrently the conciliation process is going on. There are certain issues raised by the union and management and concerned officials are holding talks with both parties. If they fail to reach agreements, then a failure report will be issued by the govt and they can approach labour courts,\u201d the official added on condition of anonymity.<br \/>&#8220;At Samsung India, the welfare of our employees is our top priority. We actively engage with our workers to address any grievances they may have and comply with all laws and regulations.
