The Bangladesh crisis amid deteriorating law and order situation in the South Asian country and anti-India posturing influenced by the radicals are expected to figure on the agenda of the Indian government\u2019s meetings with Donald Lu. <\/p>\n<p><!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=toppotime:3-->Throughout his trip, Assistant Secretary Lu will reaffirm the United States\u2019 commitment to supporting our partners\u2019 economic growth and promoting stability throughout the Indo-Pacific region, according to a <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/us-state-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US State Department<\/a> release announcing his visit.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that India would discuss with Donald Lu the current situation in Bangladesh that has huge impact on India\u2019s national security. Besides, persecution of minorities in Bangladesh has been a matter of concern. India and the USA notwithstanding their growing strategic partnership have had different views on Bangladesh for decades with New Delhi giving primacy to political forces in Bangladesh that would safeguard its national interests. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAssistant Secretary Lu will travel to New Delhi, India, where he will highlight U.S.-India cooperation to promote development, security, and women\u2019s economic security at the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/india-ideas-summit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India Ideas Summit<\/a>, hosted by the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/u-s-india-business-council\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.-India Business Council<\/a>. He will also co-chair the eighth U.S.-India 2+2 Intersessional Dialogue, alongside U.S. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Jedidiah P. Royal and counterparts from the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/indian-ministry-of-external-affairs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indian Ministry of External Affairs<\/a> and <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/indian-ministry-of-defense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indian Ministry of Defense<\/a>. The Dialogue will identify opportunities to enhance the U.S.-India bilateral partnership, including defense cooperation, and expand U.S.-India collaboration in the Indo-Pacific and beyond,\u201d read the US State Department press release.<\/p>\n<p>In Dhaka, Bangladesh, Assistant Secretary Lu will join an interagency delegation for meetings with the Bangladeshi interim government. The delegation will include representatives from the U.S. Department of the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/treasury\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Treasury<\/a>, USAID, and Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
