Prafulla Ketkar<\/a>, the editor of the RSS-affiliated magazine Organiser, questioned why population control<\/a> measures should only target Hindus. Speaking on Saturday, Ketkar pointed out the declining proportion of Hindus<\/a> in the population.<\/p>\n

“The proportion of Hindus has reduced to 75% due to a Hindu mindset. There is a need to create social awareness by changing the narrative about birth control<\/a>. Today, many families have lost confidence in the institution of marriage. Even when they marry, couples often choose to have only one child,” Ketkar said.<\/p>\n

Ketkar argued that maintaining India’s demographic balance<\/a> requires increased awareness among Hindus. He claimed that the concept of birth control was introduced by foreign forces to reduce the population, which he said is a significant asset for the country. He noted that the birth control campaign led by late Congress functionary Sanjay Gandhi<\/a> was funded by the Ford Foundation<\/a>, questioning the American organization’s intentions.<\/p>\n

Ketkar also criticized various groups for labeling the fight against religious fundamentalism<\/a> as Islamophobia, suggesting such groups are acting against India’s interests.<\/p>\n

Regarding whether India should prepare civilians for situations similar to those faced by Israel, Ketkar mentioned the Agniveer scheme<\/a> was introduced for this purpose. The scheme aims to train military-ready individuals who can be deployed during crises, he told TOI at an event organized by NGO Vishwamanthan Research Foundation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
