Ravichandran Ashwin, star off-spinner for Team India, has named Jasprit Bumrah as “the most valuable Indian cricketer right now.” Ashwin expressed his delight at how fans, in a predominantly batter-focused cricket environment, appreciate and celebrate Bumrah’s crucial role in the national team.<\/p>\n

India will host Bangladesh for a two-Test series beginning September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. IND vs BAN Test series will mark Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the national team after a long break.<\/p>\n

IND vs BAN 1st Test will be Bumrah’s first appearance for India since T20 World Cup<\/a> 2024. With India set to play 10 Test matches before the World Test Championship (WTC) final next year, Bumrah, team’s premier pacer, is expected to play a crucial role.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalist Vimal Kumar on his YouTube channel, Ashwin said, “India has always been the country that is a batsman-dominated country, and it\u2019s never going to change. But I am so glad and happy that we are celebrating Jasprit Bumrah. Jasprit Bumrah is a once-in-a-generation bowler. We should celebrate him even more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We Chennai people appreciate bowlers a lot. He was here for an event as a chief guest 4-5 days ago. We gave him a Rajni treatment. We (Chennai people) treat bowlers very nicely. He should be treated as a champion. I don\u2019t want to name, but Jasprit Bumrah is the most valuable Indian cricketer right now.”<\/p>\n

Since his return from a back injury in August, Jasprit Bumrah has been in exceptional form. The star pacer was outstanding in ODI World Cup 2023<\/a>, where he dismissed 20 batters. He continued his impressive performance by taking 19 wickets in four Tests against England earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Continuing his outstanding form, Jasprit Bumrah took 15 wickets in eight matches during the T20 World Cup<\/a> 2024, earning him the Player of the Series award.<\/p>\n

Considering Jasprit Bumrah’s current form, Bangladesh should be particularly wary of his lethal pace attack.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
