His travel history indicated recent visits to multiple countries, prompting further medical examination and monitoring. After more than two weeks of treatment, he has now been declared healthy and sent home.

The Mpox virus, a DNA-based infection, manifests as maculopapular rashes that commonly appear on the palms, soles, and skin, according to Dr. Kumar.

These rashes can develop into larger ulcerated lesions, causing discomfort but are treatable under proper medical care. The patient was admitted to a designated tertiary care isolation facility earlier this month and remained stable throughout his treatment, without any systemic illnesses or comorbidities. Public health measures, such as contact tracing and monitoring, were promptly initiated to contain the situation.

Since July 2022, India has reported around 30 cases of Mpox.
