In the freak accident, his right eye was completely damaged and specialists performed corneal transplants twice on his left eye but both attempts failed.&#8221;As his only hope was an <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/artificial-cornea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">artificial cornea<\/a>, his local doctor got in touch with me,&#8221; said Dr Maskati. <\/p>\n<p>He met the patient when he visited <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/pakistan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pakistan<\/a> for a conference and felt an artificial cornea would work.
