A man has been arrested after a bow and arrow was found in his car parked near the House of Lords. <\/p>\n

The suspect was apprehended at 6.15am on Wednesday 25 September in the vicinity of the Peers car park, the Metropolitan Police said.<\/p>\n

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, for breaching Serious Organised Crime and Police Act legislation, and vehicle interference.<\/p>\n

He was sectioned under the Mental Health Act and was bailed pending further enquiries.<\/p>\n

The House of Lords and House of Commons have been in recess since Friday 13 September for party conferences, meaning a limited number of MPs and peers are working in the buildings.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for the Met said: “A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon at approximately 6.15am on Wednesday 25 September in the vicinity of the Peers car park.<\/p>\n

“A bow and arrow were found in his car at the location.<\/p>\n

“He was further arrested for breaching Serious Organised Crime and Police Act legislation and vehicle interference.<\/p>\n

“He was subsequently sectioned under the Mental Health Act and remains in the care of medical professionals.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
