Telangana Minister<\/a> Konda Surekha ignited a political controversy on Wednesday after she blamed BRS<\/a> working president KT Rama Rao<\/a> (KTR<\/a>) for the divorce of Tollywood actors<\/a> Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu<\/a>. Her remarks quickly escalated into a political storm, drawing sharp criticism from both the political and film industries.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the allegations, KTR sent a legal notice to the Telangana Environment Minister, demanding a public apology within 24 hours. He warned that failure to retract her statements could lead to legal action, including potential criminal charges.<\/p>\n

In the legal notice, KTR stated, “Just for political mileage, you used my name and allegations. You are even resorting to character assassination of women film actors. Being a minister, you abused your position.” He also accused Surekha of deliberately trying to tarnish his reputation with these baseless allegations.<\/p>\n

Veteran Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna<\/a>, Naga Chaitanya’s father, also condemned the minister\u2019s comments, calling them completely false. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna wrote, “As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false.” He urged the minister to withdraw her statement immediately.<\/p>\n

Nagarjuna further added, “I strongly condemn the comments of the minister. Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy. I am condemning the statement in the strongest possible terms.”<\/p>\n


Nagarjuna\u2019s wife, Amala Akkineni, also spoke out against Konda Surekha’s comments, calling them disgraceful. “This is really shameful. If leaders lower themselves into the gutter and behave like criminals, what will happen to our country?” she stated, expressing her dismay over the situation.Meanwhile, actor Samantha<\/a> Ruth Prabhu also responded to the minister\u2019s remarks. Expressing her disappointment at being dragged into a political issue, Samantha shared her thoughts on Instagram.”To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are often treated as props, to fall in love and out of love, and still stand up and fight\u2014it takes immense courage and strength. Konda Surekha<\/a> Garu, I am proud of what this journey has made me. Please don’t trivialise it,” Samantha wrote in her post.<\/p>\n

Samantha also emphasised that her divorce from Naga Chaitanya<\/a> was a personal matter, and she hoped the minister understood the weight her words carried. “I urge you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy. My divorce was mutual and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Please refrain from speculating about it,” she added.<\/p>\n

She concluded her statement by reiterating her desire to remain non-political. “Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so,” Samantha wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
