A group of children and adults have been taken to hospital in the US after ingesting “toxic mushrooms”, in what has been described as a “mass casualty incident”.<\/p>\n

Emergency services in Peach Bottom Township, Pennsylvania<\/a><\/strong>, were alerted after 11 people became ill after ingesting the fungi on Friday.<\/p>\n

They had eaten “toxic mushrooms and were all ill”, the Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company said.<\/p>\n

It described the situation as a “mass casualty incident” and said emergency units were dispatched from multiple counties in the area.<\/p>\n

Laura Taylor, Delta-Cardiff fire chief, said all the adults and children were in a stable condition after being taken to hospital, local television station WPMT reported.<\/p>\n

Peach Bottom Township is about 56 miles (90km) southeast of Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania state.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
