The Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum, a landmark institution celebrating the rich cultural diversity and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, was inaugurated on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=toppotime:3-->Clarifying that he is not issuing any threat or he is not promoting any war, Khandu told media persons that \u201cIndia of 2024 is not that of 1962. India has advanced leaps and bounds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Kameng Frontier Division was the prime target of the Chinese offensive in the 1962 <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/sino-indian-war\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sino-Indian War<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum, a landmark institution celebrating the rich cultural diversity and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was attended by Kamlesh Paswan, Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps, Maj Gen Neeraj Shukla SM Blazing Sword Division.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/include_growfast.cms?pagename=article&skipcss=1potime:2--> <br \/>Located in the scenic village of Nyukmadung, Dirang, along the route to Tawang, the museum promises to play a pivotal role in preserving the cultural legacy and contributing to socio-economic growth of the region.The inauguration of this state-of-the-art museum is part of the Indian Army\u2019s Operation <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/sadbhavana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SADBHAVANA<\/a> and aligns with the Government of India&#8217;s <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/vibrant-village-programme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vibrant Village Programme<\/a>. It stands as a symbol of peace, security, and the collaborative spirit of nation-building through the integration of local communities.Khandu cited references from ancient texts like the \u2018Kalika Purana\u2019 and the \u2018Mahabharata\u2019 and underscored the region\u2019s profound cultural, historical, and religious significance, describing the <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/kameng-museum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kameng Museum<\/a> as an essential institution to preserve the past while inspiring the future generations. He commended Indian Army for helping in establishing this Museum as also for Border Area Development through SADBHAVANA projects in various parts of the State.<\/p>\n<p>He also complimented the Indian Army for swift execution of the vision articulated by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff for Border Area Development during the Conclave held on 11 Sep 2024 in New Delhi. The Chief Minister mentioned that the Kameng Museum reflects the Indian Army\u2019s commitment to transform the border areas through initiatives such as model villages, <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/border-tourism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">border tourism<\/a>, and enhancing infrastructure and aligning with the government\u2019s \u2018Vibrant Village Programme\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He referred to the inauguration of Kameng Museum as an achievement of the comprehensive vision outlined for border areas, focusing on inclusivity, sustainability, and economic development in the region through \u2018border tourism\u2019 and \u2018cultural revival\u2019. He thanked the Indian Army for synergised efforts with the State Government for overall development of the people of State and a \u2018Viksit Arunachal\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He also complimented Prof (Dr) Manvi Seth and her team of Indian Institute of Heritage for aesthetically curating the Museum alongwith digital artifacts and Shri Praveen Chaturvedi, CEO, Moonlight Pictures for capturing details of ancient traditions and contemporary life of people of Arunachal Pradesh in a captivating movie to be showcased to the entire World. <\/p>\n<p>Kamlesh Paswan, Minister of State for Rural Development in his address, expressed the Kameng region&#8217;s strategic importance and lauded the Indian Army\u2019s efforts in fostering civil-military cooperation and regional development. He highlighted the museum\u2019s important role in preserving the rich cultural legacy of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Gajraj Corps, reiterated the Indian Army\u2019s commitment to both the security as well as socio-economic development of the Bordering Areas.<\/p>\n<p>The Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum is expected to become a key educational and cultural hub, drawing scholars, researchers, and tourists from around the world. By promoting tourism and fostering cultural appreciation, the museum will significantly contribute to the local economy while standing as a proud symbol of identity, heritage, and resilience for both the State and the Nation. Kameng Museum metamorphosed as a community driven, community-oriented project with voluntary donation of land, housing a collection of 343 traditional heirlooms dating back to the Neolithic period by the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Realisation of this ambitious nation building project would not have been possible without the invaluable support provided by Shri Phurpa Tsering, MLA, Dirang and Shri (Late) Senge Tsering who were instrumental in shaping this iconic project which stands as a beacon of peace, prosperity and national integration.
