LA Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani partially dislocated his left shoulder during Saturday’s Game 2 of the World Series against the New York Yankees.<\/p>\n

The Japanese baseballer hurt himself when he tried to steal second base in the seventh inning.<\/p>\n

He is now a doubt for Monday’s Game 3 in New York.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani “had a little left shoulder subluxation” and tests would be carried out.<\/p>\n

“We’ll know more in the next couple of days.<\/p>\n

“The strength was great. The range of motion good, so we’re encouraged.<\/p>\n

“But obviously I can’t speculate because we don’t get the scans yet. So, once we have the scans, we’ll know more.”<\/p>\n

Ohtani clutched his left forearm after being tagged by shortstop Anthony Volpe for the final out in the inning on a feetfirst slide.<\/p>\n

He laid near the bag for a couple minutes before being tended to by trainers and leaving the field.<\/p>\n

The Dodgers held on for a 4-2 victory and lead the Series 2-0.<\/p>\n

Back in April, Ohtani’s interpreter was accused of stealing more than $16m (\u00a312.75m) from the Dodgers star to cover gambling debts.<\/p>\n

Ippei Mizuhara has been charged with bank fraud after allegedly stealing the funds from an account of Ohtani that he helped to set up.<\/p>\n

Ohtani is considered a victim and is not accused of any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

Last year the 30-year-old signed a record-breaking $700m (\u00a3557m) deal<\/a><\/strong> with the LA Dodgers.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
