PM Narendra Modi<\/a> on Wednesday shared his joy on X, describing this year\u2019s Diwali as truly “extraordinary” with Lord Ram<\/a> finally enthroned in his grand temple at Ayodhya after 500 years. \u201cAfter centuries of devotion and countless sacrifices, we are all fortunate to witness this historic moment,\u201d PM Modi<\/a> expressed, adding his hope that Lord Ram\u2019s life and teachings will continue to inspire India\u2019s progress and unity.<\/p>\n

This Diwali eve brought not just celebrations but also a record-breaking spectacle during the eighth edition of Deepotsav in Ayodhya<\/a>. Two Guinness World Records<\/a> were set: the largest aarti gathering, with over 1,100 people rotating diyas in unison, and the largest display of oil lamps, lighting up Ayodhya with 25,12,585 diyas along the Saryu River<\/a>.The celebration, organised by Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Department of Tourism and Ayodhya District Administration, created a stunning scene along Saryu Ghat. Laser lights and a dazzling light show enhanced the beauty of the riverbank, with the flickering diyas symbolising the victory of light over darkness. As Nischal Barot, the Guinness World Records<\/a> official, confirmed, “Both records set by Ayodhya\u2019s Deepotsav<\/a> and Saryu Aarti were officially certified\u2014an incredible feat that drew worldwide admiration.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond records, the Deepotsav event paid homage to the tale of Lord Ram through a vibrant sound and light show, narrating Ram Leela scenes and bringing alive significant events from his life. The five-day Deepotsav also included 18 detailed tableaux created by the Information and Tourism Departments, adding a rich cultural and spiritual touch.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Deepotsav is special not only for its visual grandeur but also for its deep spiritual significance, marking Lord Ram\u2019s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. Thousands gathered along the Saryu River, where millions of diyas spread unity and joy, embodying the spirit of Diwali\u2014victory of good over evil.<\/p>\n

Diwali celebrations across India are underway, with families decorating homes with rangoli, lighting diyas, and praying to Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity. Fireworks, sweets, and gatherings make it a festive time for all, while this grand event in Ayodhya adds an unforgettable glow to Diwali 2024<\/a>.
