In a unique display of devotion, the heads of the Gadwara nagar panchayat<\/a> and the Sadar development block<\/a> in Pratapgarh district have dedicated their official chairs to Lord Ram. Seema Singh<\/a>, 53, chief of Gadwara nagar panchayat, and Shesha Devi<\/a>, 65, chief of Sadar development block, both share the sentiment: “Lord Ram runs the administrative work of our offices and we merely represent Him.”<\/p>\n

Seema Singh, who believes that her victory in the 2023 Gadwara nagar panchayat election was a result of Lord Ram\u2019s blessings, has kept the chief\u2019s chair vacant for Ram, sitting instead on a separate seat to conduct her official duties.<\/p>\n

“My mother dedicated the chief’s chair to Lord Ram as she won the election of the newly created nagar panchayat Gadwara in Pratapgarh district as an independent candidate after defeating BJP candidate Naveen Singh in 2023 with the blessings of Lord Ram. During the first board meeting of the nagar panchayat on June 20, 2023, my mother decided to dedicate her chair to Lord Ram,\u201d her son, Sachin, told TOI. <\/p>\n

“My mother has placed a picture of Lord Ram on the chief’s chair while she sits on an adjacent chair,” he added.<\/p>\n


Seema has also organised grand functions in Gadwara nagar panchayat on January 22, 2025 to commemorate the day Ramlalla’s idol was consecrated at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. For the occasion, she installed two idols of Lord Ram in the area as well.Similarly, Shesha Devi, the block chief of Sadar development block, has also dedicated her chair to Lord Ram for the past three years.\u201cShesha Devi won the election with the blessings of Ram after which she decided that the chair of block chief would be dedicated to Lord Ram, and she would sit next to his chair for her routine work. Shesha Devi, while contesting the block pramukh poll, took an oath that she would dedicate her chair to Lord Ram once she won the election. After she won, she fulfilled her promise. She performs puja to Lord Ram every day before her routine office work,\u201d Shesha’s representative, Goldiee Singh, told TOI.<\/p>\n

Both leaders\u2019 actions reflect their deep faith and commitment to honor Lord Ram in their public service.
