India’s batting star Virat Kohli has traveled to Australia early on his own, showing his commitment and determination to perform in high-stakes IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Test series.

His early departure suggests he plans to acclimatize to Australian conditions before the critical IND vs AUS Test series. The rest of the Indian team will depart for Australia in two groups on November 10 and 11 and will join Kohli for a preparatory camp ahead of the first Test in Perth on November 22.

Virat Kohli playfully remarked, “family ko rok ke thodi hi na photo lunga tum logon ke sath” (I won’t hold up my family just to take pictures with you all).

India faces immense pressure in the upcoming five-match IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Test series, following their humiliating 0-2 loss to New Zealand at home, which has derailed their World Test Championship (WTC) final ambitions.

To secure a spot in the WTC final without relying on other teams’ results, India must win at least four of the five Tests in Australia.

Australia is a tough opponent at home, which likely prompted Virat Kohli to arrive early in Australia. Additionally, his recent form in Tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand has been concerning, with just one fifty-plus score in his last five matches, further motivating his early arrival.

The pressure extends beyond players. Reports indicate that Gautam Gambhir could be removed as India’s head coach if the team experiences a heavy loss in IND vs AUS series. In that case, BCCI may opt for different coaches for red and white-ball formats.
