When the bride\u2019s family expressed their inability to give such a huge amount, an argument ensued between the two parties.<\/p>\n<p> Khandauli SHO Rakesh Singh Chauhan said a case under BNS section 352 (intention insult) and sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act was registered against Ravi Kumar, according to ToI&#8217;s report. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe groom was arrested, but released on bail later after being served a notice,\u201d SHO Chauhan told ToI. <\/p>\n<p><!--\/include_growfast.cms?pagename=article&skipcss=1potime:1--><br \/>A member from bride\u2019s side said, \u201cHer father had already spent lakhs of rupees on the wedding. Also, household goods and other appliances worth several lakhs of rupees were given. Still, the groom demanded Rs 30 lakh in cash on the wedding night.\u201dRecently, a court in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in a 2020 dowry death case.
