after an email was &#8220;sent in error&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, the Met sent an email to all those thought to be victims of the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/tory-william-wragg-admits-giving-mps-personal-phone-numbers-to-someone-he-met-on-dating-app-13108081\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>scandal<\/strong><\/a>, where the addresses were visible to every recipient.<\/p>\n<p>The recipients&#8217; names were mistakenly visible to each other, and officers will be reminded of their care that should be taken when sending group emails, Sky News understands.<\/p>\n<p>The email is understood to have been a short, routine update to the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>A Met Police spokesperson said: &#8220;An email relating to an ongoing investigation was sent in error today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We recognise the impact on those involved and apologise sincerely for any distress.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sdc-article-widget sdc-article-related-stories sdc-article-related-stories--thumbnails\" data-component-name=\"sdc-article-related-stories\">\n<div class=\"sdc-article-related-stories__content\">\n<h3 class=\"sdc-article-related-stories__title\">More on Houses Of Parliament<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;A referral to the Information Commissioner&#8217;s Office has been made and we await advice on next steps.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Officers will be reaching out to those impacted to personally apologise and provide reassurance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The honeytrap scandal was a sexting scam that saw <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/william-wragg-ex-tory-mp-feels-enormous-guilt-over-westminster-honeytrap-scandal-13255039\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>former Tory MP William Wragg<\/strong><\/a> give out fellow politicians&#8217;
