On November 27, the court issued notices to the dargah committee, the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Archaeological Survey of India concerning the shrine, which is visited by devotees across the religious and political spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>Mirwaiz, while addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jama Masjid in downtown Srinagar, said the Rajasthan court order right after the killing of five Muslim youth in Sambhal of Uttar Pradesh in discriminatory police action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere seems to be a deliberate pattern where first doubts are raised, then the court orders surveys, and then majority claims have to be satisfied. The Babri Masjid issue, after such claims, followed by its demolition and how it was settled by courts, is fresh in the minds of Muslims,\u201d said Mirwaiz. <\/p>\n<p>The Hurriyat leader said that this is an extremely \u201cdisturbing and serious issue for the Muslims of not only India and Kashmir but the subcontinent and the world over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--\/include_growfast.cms?pagename=article&skipcss=1potime:2--><br \/>\u201cShrine of Hazrat Moin-ud-din, is revered by Muslims all over the world, where thousands of people visit daily. This 800-year-old shrine is linked to the history and culture of the spread of Islam in the Indian subcontinent,\u201d said Mirwaiz.He said such actions undermine the religious sentiments of Muslims. \u201cIf India is a secular state, then why are such issues allowed to be raked up,\u201d Mirwaiz asked.\u201cThis is a dangerous trend that is being encouraged and can have very serious consequences,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n<p>The Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, maintains that barring Ayodhya, status quo as on August 15, 1947, will have to be maintained at religious structures across the country.
