By October 2024, the total investor base rose to 93.65 lakh, with women accounting for 25.66 lakh, marking a 58.59% increase in female participation.

This trend is mirrored nationwide, where women comprised 22.6% of all investors at the end of FY22, rising to 23.9% by October 2024. Among major states, Delhi (29.8%), Maharashtra (27.7%), and Tamil Nadu (27.5%) exceed the national average in female representation, while Bihar (15.4%), Uttar Pradesh (18.2%), and Odisha (19.4%) remain below 20%.

Despite regional disparities, the overall rise in female participation signals growing gender inclusivity in India’s financial markets, the NSE report highlighted. Shah also noted that women often invest in IPOs using their savings and adopt long-term strategies for wealth building.

Source link

Gujarat’s equity market is witnessing remarkable growth, with women driving the momentum.
