It can either be an independent legislation or part of the Digital India Bill.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imageHolder\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"artimg\" align=\"center\" style=\"width:100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/img.etimg.com\/photo\/msid-109049935\/Vaishnaw.jpg\" alt=\"Vaishnaw\" title=\"Vaishnaw\"\/><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"subHead\">Stakeholders on board:<\/span> \u201cWe have already consulted the industry. Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/12\/22\/technology\/apple-ai-news-publishers.html\" data-type=\"tilCustomLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apple has reportedly started negotiations with major news outlets<\/a> to strike deals that will allow the technology giant to train its AI systems using the copyrighted content.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"border-bottom: solid 1px #979797; margin: 20px 0 14px;\" data-attr-sectionload=\"jsSectionLad_2\"\/>\n<p>Sachin Bansal\u2019s Navi eyes $2-billion valuation in new funding talks<\/p>\n<p>            <\/p>\n<div class=\"imageHolder\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"artimg\" align=\"center\" style=\"width:100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/img.etimg.com\/photo\/msid-109049940\/Sachin Bansal.jpg\" alt=\"Sachin Bansal\" title=\"Sachin Bansal\"\/><\/div>\n<p><em>Navi Technologies founder Sachin Bansal<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Flipkart cofounder Sachin Bansal\u2019s fintech venture, <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tech\/funding\/sachin-bansals-fintech-navi-in-talks-to-raise-new-funding-at-2-billion-valuation-sources\/articleshow\/109027037.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Navi Technologies, is in talks to raise an external round of funding at a valuation of about $2 billion<\/a>, sources have told ETtech.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"subHead\">Deal details:<\/span> Bansal has discussed raising nearly $200-300 million from private investors, but this may increase depending on how the talks progress. People in the know said the $2-billion valuation is lower than that sought in previous funding discussions Navi had with investors two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what he thinks is the right valuation after the recent divestment of group companies like <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/industry\/banking\/finance\/svatantra-microfin-completes-acquisition-of-chaitanya-india-fin-credit\/articleshow\/105481220.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chaitanya India Fin Credit<\/a>,\u201d one of the people said.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed Rs 3,350-crore IPO would have seen some dilution from Bansal.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"subHead\">Background: <\/span>This comes after <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/markets\/ipos\/fpos\/navi-technologies-gets-sebi-nod-for-initial-public-offering\/articleshow\/94156771.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Navi had filed for an initial public offering (IPO) and secured Sebi\u2019s nod<\/a> for the same. However, the company didn&#8217;t go ahead with the planned listing.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Bansal sold his entire stake in Flipkart, at the time of its sale to US retail giant Walmart. He went on to use most of these funds to launch Navi, where he owns nearly 98% stake.
