The family of Nikita Singhania<\/a>, whose estranged husband Atul Subhash<\/a> died by suicide earlier this week, has strongly denied the allegations made against them in his suicide note<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Sushil Singhania, Nikita\u2019s uncle, who is one of the accused in the case filed by Atul\u2019s brother in Bengaluru, said on Wednesday that the claims made by Atul in his note are entirely baseless and that Nikita will soon address the situation once she returns.<\/p>\n

The tragic incident unfolded on December 9 when Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old tech professional, was found dead at his Bengaluru home. Along with his body, a 24-page suicide note and a “justice is due” placard were discovered, in which Atul accused his estranged wife Nikita and her family of harassment during their ongoing divorce proceedings<\/a>. <\/p>\n

According to Atul\u2019s brother, Bikas Kumar, the note detailed allegations of mental and physical abuse, as well as extortion attempts from Nikita and her relatives.<\/p>\n

Speaking for the first time since the controversy erupted, Sushil Singhania, a 70-year-old family member, denied any involvement in the matter. <\/p>\n


“I learned from the media that I have been named in the FIR. However, I have no connection to this case. The divorce proceedings have been ongoing for three years, and suddenly this incident has occurred. Our family is not guilty. The court will deliver its judgment,” he said in an interview.He added that Nikita would address all the allegations once she is back, and that her response would clear up any confusion. \u201cThe allegations made in the suicide note are baseless. Nikita is not here at the moment, but she will provide answers to everything when she returns. She has an answer to every accusation,\u201d Sushil said.<\/p>\n

What Atul’s suicide note reveals<\/h2>\n

The suicide note, which Atul allegedly left behind, accused his wife and her family of subjecting him to constant financial demands, including exorbitant sums for alimony and maintenance. <\/p>\n

Atul\u2019s brother Bikas has claimed that the note described how Atul had been subjected to repeated harassment, leading to significant mental and physical distress.<\/p>\n

The Bengaluru police have since launched an investigation into the matter. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shivakumar confirmed the case, saying, “Atul Subhash committed suicide in the early hours of December 9. A complaint has been filed with the Marathahalli police station in Bengaluru, alleging that his wife and her family demanded money from him and harassed him. Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered, and an investigation is underway.”<\/p>\n

Atul\u2019s suicide note not only accused his wife and her family but also made strong criticisms of the justice system, particularly its handling of marital disputes. Atul wrote that his attempts to improve his career only led to more harassment from his wife\u2019s family, and that the legal system had failed him.<\/p>\n

“The more I work hard and become better at my work, the more I and my family will be harassed and extorted,” he wrote. <\/p>\n

He further lamented that his death would end the financial strain on his family, which he claimed had been the primary motive for the ongoing harassment.<\/p>\n

Atul\u2019s suicide has sparked debate about the pressures faced by individuals caught in prolonged legal battles, particularly those involving family and financial disputes. <\/p>\n

Police teams have been dispatched to Uttar Pradesh, where Nikita and her family reside, for questioning. Authorities are in the process of gathering more information from Nikita, her mother, brother, and uncle, as part of the ongoing investigation into the allegations made by Atul\u2019s family.
