India<\/a> must strive to become an economic powerhouse<\/a> and for that, the country needs to work towards developing the newest sector of its economy<\/a>: the digital world, Prime Minister Modi<\/a> said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

While addressing the Smart India Hackathon 2024<\/a> virtually, Modi stressed on the need for the country to pivot towards the enhancement of its digital possibilities.<\/p>\n

“If we want to become an economic superpower, then we must work on the enhancement of digital world, the newest economic sector. From digital content creation<\/a> to gaming, India is moving forward in a lot of such virtual fields,” said the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

Further, Modi mentioned the “One Nation One Subscription” scheme, which aims to provide access to cutting-edge resources and opportunities for young people across India. He explained the government\u2019s commitment to ensuring that India\u2019s youth are well-equipped to compete with the best in the world.<\/p>\n

“Our aim is that the youth compete with the world’s best. They should not feel left behind,” the Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n


The government\u2019s policies are increasingly geared toward fostering a generation that is both skilled and confident in their abilities to take on global challenges, the Prime Minister said.”For me, youth is our strength, and the government is working to help them,” he said. In line with his vision for youth engagement, the Prime Minister also discussed his ambitious goal of getting one lakh young people involved in politics, regardless of their political backgrounds. <\/p>\n

“I said on Independence Day that I will get 1 lakh youth into politics without any political background. Next month, the Vikist Bharat Young Leaders’ Dialogue will be held, where crores of youngsters will give their ideas for a developed India. Those whose ideas are selected will get an opportunity to participate in the program on January 12 and 13. Global leaders will be present at the event,” PM Modi<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of innovation and global thinking in India\u2019s development. He encouraged participants of the Smart India Hackathon<\/a> to focus on tackling global challenges, not just domestic issues. <\/p>\n

“I want the Smart India Hackathon team to focus on global problems and not just Indian problems,” PM Modi said.
