The much-awaited trailer of Emergency<\/em> was released on Monday and instantly found a spot on the list of trends. The film features Kangana Ranaut<\/a> in the lead role as India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kangana Ranaut has shared the trailer <\/a>on Instagram and wrote, “1975 , Emergency \u2014 A Defining chapter in Indian History. Indira: India’s most powerful woman. Her ambition transformed the nation, but her #EMERGENCY plunged it into chaos.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Set in 1975, the trailer showcases the chaos of the Emergency era. The film delves deeply into the political climate of the time, featuring young Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s powerful speeches (Shreyas Talpade) and Jayaprakash Narayan’s ferocious pushback (Anupam Kher). Characters like Jagjivan Ram (the late Satish Kaushik), Pupul Jayakar (Mahima Chaudhary) and Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw (Milind Soman) also play a major role in this gripping political tale.<\/p>\n

Kangana Ranaut issued a statement on Emergency<\/em><\/a> trailer release, reported Etimes<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said, “After a long journey filled with challenges, I’m glad that our film Emergency will finally hit the big screen on 17th January. This story isn’t just about a controversial leader; it delves into themes that remain profoundly relevant today, making the journey both difficult and significant. Releasing just a week before Republic Day, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the resilience of our Constitution and experience the film with your loved ones.”<\/p>\n

Directed and headlined by Kangana Ranaut, Emergency <\/em>features an impressive supporting cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik.\u00a0<\/p>\n
