Byju’s-owned Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) has appointed Deepak Mehrotra as its managing director and chief executive officer, the company said in a statement on Monday.<\/p>\n

Mehrotra has over 35 years of experience in executive roles across sectors such as FMCG, telecom, and education.<\/p>\n

ET first reported on March 28<\/a> saying the brick-and-mortar coaching firm had dropped plans for any potential return of Aakash Chaudhry – the promoter of the coaching business unit.<\/p>\n

It was a significant departure from the earlier stand of the promoters being in talks with the company<\/a> to come back at the helm of affairs to run daily operations. <\/p>\n

Prior to joining Aakash, he was the MD at Ashirvad Pipes and has also worked at Pearson India, Bharti Airtel<\/a>, Coca-Cola, and Asian Paints<\/a>.<\/p>\n
