Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> on Wednesday said Andhra Pradesh<\/a>‘s Visakhapatnam will be among the few cities in the world where large-scale green hydrogen production<\/a> facilities will be established. Addressing a public rally in Visakaptnam, Modi said the green hydrogen hub will create several employment opportunities for the people of the region and develop a manufacturing ecosystem in the state. <\/p>\n

“I had the opportunity to lay the foundation stone for Bulk Drug Park<\/a> in Nakkapalli. Andhra<\/a> Pradesh is one of the 3 states in the country where such parks are being established…Our government views urbanization as an opportunity, and we aim to make Andhra Pradesh an example of new-age urbanization. To realize this vision, today the foundation stone for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area<\/a> has been laid,” said the prime minister. <\/p>\n

The speech came after Modi virtually laid the foundation stone and launched projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore in Andhra Praesh. Among others he laid the foundation stone for a railway zone here and NTPC’s integrated green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district.<\/p>\n

The green hydrogen hub is a joint green energy ecosystem initiative between NTPC Green Energy Ltd and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP). The Prime Minister virtually laid the foundation stone for Krishnapatnam industrial hub, a Rs 1,518 crore project coming up on a 2,500-acre land parcel in the first phase. It is expected to generate employment opportunities for 50,000 people. Foundation stone was laid for a Rs 1,877 crore bulk drug park in Nakkapalli. Entailing an investment of Rs 11,542 crore, the bulk drug park coming up on 2,002 acres of land is expected to provide jobs for 54,000 people.
Modi said Andhra is a state of possibilities and opportunities and when realised, it would not only contribute in the development of the state but also the nation. “The development of Andhra is our vision and serving the people of Andhra is our resolve. Andhra Pradesh has set a target to become an economy of nearly $2.5 trillion by 2047. To realize this vision, Chandrababu Naidu<\/a>‘s government has initiated the ‘Swarna Andhra-2047<\/a>‘ initiative,” added Modi. <\/p>\n

The prime minister said the Centre supported Andhra Pradesh’s goals and had give special priority to the state. <\/p>\n

Modi also praised Chief Minister and NDA ally N Chandrababu Naidu for his efforts to develop the state. <\/p>\n

“After a gap of 60 years, a government has been elected for the third time in the country and after the formation of the government, this is my first official program and the wonderful welcome you gave me, the way people were blessing me on the way and today and N Chandrababu Naidu has hit all the sixers in his speech. I respect the spirit of each of his words, his sentiments and I assure the people of Andhra Pradesh, the countrymen that the sentiments that Chandrababu was expressing today, together we will definitely achieve those goals,” Modi said.
