The tribunal asked the Bangladesh government to produce her before the Dhaka court for judicial trials. They have also decided to interrogate her on these charges. The Bangladesh government may ask India to give consular access.<\/p>\n<p>Highly-placed sources told ET that the Yunus regime is applying pressure tactic and any move to extradite Hasina would send a wrong signal to various allies of India in the immediate and extended neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>New Delhi is unlikely to adhere to such requests for allies from the neighbourhood who have safeguarded its national interests in cracking down against radicals and boosting sub-regional cooperation.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/include_growfast.cms?pagename=article&skipcss=1potime:2--><br \/>India maintains that it has a long tradition of receiving guests. Also, as per India-Bangladesh extradition treaty, requests &#8220;political in nature&#8221; cannot be enforced.Over decades, India has been home to several figures from the region, including Dalai Lama, who have faced persecution back home. It is being felt that false cases will be slapped on Hasina to prosecute her if she returns home under current circumstances, sources alleged.This is not the first time that Hasina has stayed in <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/exile-in-india\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exile in India<\/a>. She was here in exile following her father&#8217;s assassination in 1975 before returning to Dhaka.
