Former Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shahzad has once again made the headlines for wrong reasons, as the right-handed batsman has called his ‘good looks’ behind a series of troubles during his international career.<\/p>\n

The Pakistani batsman did not have a memorable career, as his incosistency and constant failures led him to be out-of-favour from the national set-up, and is infamous for his bizarre and sensational statements over the years.<\/p>\n

“Being good-looking has caused me a lot of problems. In our field, if you look good, know how to dress, and speak well, some people start to resent you. I’ve been a target within the Pakistani team for this. I’m not defending myself here, but there are others who have also faced this. If your fan following grows and people appreciate you, it’s hard for some senior players to accept,” said Ahmed Shahzad, in a recent interview, as reported by NDTV Sports.<\/p>\n

“We come from small areas. I lived in Anarkali, Lahore, and when I gained recognition, I worked on grooming myself and improving my personality. But this has also caused significant problems within Pakistan,” he added.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Ahmed Shahzad’s statements have gone viral, as the former Pakistan player has lashed out at his teammates and current national squad players on previous occasions.<\/p>\n

He famously called Babar Azam as ‘Farzi King’, and became a hot topic on social media when he stated during an interview that he wishes of seeing famous actor Brad Pitt play the role of ‘Ahmed Shahzad’ in the cricketer’s biopic, if it ever happens.<\/p>\n

Rashid Latif Advices Pakistan Players Ahead Of ICC Champions Trophy 2025<\/span><\/h2>\n

Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has expressed his excitement ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be co-hosted by Pakistan and UAE, and the former wicket-keeper batsman has shared a piece of advice for his compatriots.<\/p>\n

The 56-year-old has commended the efforts of Pakistan government and PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) for their efforts into hosting the mega event, and has asked his players to ‘solely focus on playing attacking cricket’.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“These are exciting times for a cricket-crazy nation. The world’s top teams will be participating in this mega event,” said Rashid Latif, as reported by NDTV Sports citing Daily Dawn.<\/p>\n

“I commend the efforts of the Pakistan government and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their relentless lobbying with the International Cricket Council (ICC), ensuring that Pakistan gets the opportunity to host this tournament. India will play their matches in the UAE, and that is their business; Pakistan should focus solely on playing attacking cricket,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
