The district administration of Gurugram<\/a> has issued an order to demolish five towers at the Chintels Paradiso<\/a> complex in Sector 109, deemed unsafe for habitation. The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav<\/a>, permits the demolition of towers D, E, F, G, and H of the residential society. This decision was made following an email from the builder requesting immediate evacuation of these towers for demolition.<\/p>\n

The unsafe status of these towers was determined based on audit reports submitted by a team from IIT Delhi<\/a> to the administration. The collapse of six floors of Tower D on February 10, 2022, resulting in the death of two women residents, prompted this action. Since the incident, there has been ongoing contention between the builder and residents regarding the site.<\/p>\n

The order specified, “Permission is allowed for demolition of towers D, E, F, G & H of Group Housing Society namely M\/s Chintel Paradiso Pvt Ltd<\/a>, Sector-109, Gurugram, subjected to the compliances of policy\/guidelines of the concerned departments.”<\/p>\n

“It is pertinent to mention here that this permission does not provide immunity from any other applicable state\/central law\/act\/policy related to the subjected work. Further, in case of any lapse\/mishappening\/carelessness at site, you will be solely responsible and relevant action will be taken accordingly. Further, you will submit the fortnightly report along with compliances to the concerned,” the order stated.<\/p>\n

In response to the builder’s email, Yadav mentioned that a committee, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Hitesh Kumar Meena<\/a> and representatives of concerned departments, discussed the matter. The order also highlighted that the permission for demolition does not exempt the builder from compliance with other applicable state\/central laws, acts, policies related to the work, and any lapses or mishaps at the site will hold the builder solely responsible, with relevant actions to follow. The builder is required to submit fortnightly reports along with compliances to the concerned authorities.<\/p>\n

Meena confirmed the issuance of the demolition order, indicating that the demolition will proceed as per the directives laid out in the order.(With inputs from PTI)<\/p><\/div>\n
