The two ex-officio members are &#8211; Union minister in charge of Waqf and additional\/joint secretary dealing with the matter in the ministry.<\/p>\n<p>The panel has also accepted the submissions of <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/dawoodi-bohra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dawoodi Bohra<\/a> and <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/agha-khani\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agha Khani<\/a> communities, the two Shia sects, to keep their trusts out of the law&#8217;s purview. The panel may recommend a proviso that &#8220;nothing in this Act shall, notwithstanding any judgement, decree or order of any court, apply to a trust established before or after&#8221; the enactment of this law in connection with public charities by a Muslim for purposes similar to a Waqf, a source said. <\/p>\n<p>Another source citing the draft report said inclusion of &#8220;non-Muslims will make it more broad-based and promote inclusivity and diversity in Waqf management&#8217;. The panel has recommended safeguards for tenants of Waqf properties.<\/p>\n<p>The panel is scheduled to meet on Wednesday to adopt the report. Almost all Opposition MPs are likely to give dissent notes. DMK MP A Raja in a post on X said the panel members were told that the draft report will be discussed on Wednesday at 10 am. &#8220;It is 655 pages and has been sent to us just now. MPs are expected to go through it and provide comments and submit dissent notes. This is simply not possible.
