India should have electric cars just like every other country has electric cars.It&#8217;s a natural progression to provide Tesla electric vehicles in India,&#8221; Musk said in a X Spaces session with Nicolai Tangen, CEO at Norges Bank Investment Management.<br \/>Musk said in the future &#8220;all vehicles will go electric and it is just a matter of time.&#8221; Tesla is set to begin its operations in India and is understood to be scouting for a location to set up its <!-- -->manufacturing plant<!-- -->. Maharashtra and Gujarat have extended land offers to the company for its proposed EV plant.<br \/>Tesla is likely to invest between $2-3 billion and aims to cater to both domestic and export markets. The company&#8217;s plans for India come in the wake of a new <!-- -->EV policy<!-- -->, where incentives have been provided for those setting up manufacturing in the country.<br \/>The policy has asked for a minimum investment threshold of Rs 4,150 crore ($500 million). And, to achieve significant levels of domestic value addition (DVA), govt mandated that by third year of setting up the manufacturing unit, at least 25% of parts should be sourced domestically. This localisation level is expected to increase to 50% by the fifth year of operation.<br \/>For vehicles valued at $35,000 or more, 15% customs duty will be imposed for five years if the manufacturer
