He said that the government\u2019s goal was to introduce modernity, transparency, and accountability in the management of Waqf properties. Additionally, the bill aims to prevent the misuse of the law by vested interests attempting to encroach upon land, thereby threatening social and communal harmony in the country. \u201cJPC on Waqf Amendment Bill has concluded today. The intention of the government was to bring modernity, transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties and to also prevent the abuse of the law by vested interests who were trying to encroach upon lands at the cost of social and communal harmony in the country\u201d, said Surya.  Both of these objectives have been met with the amendments that have been passed and the report that has finally been accepted by the JPC.
