It is already powering YouTube ads, the Google Earth Engine and other Google services.<\/p>\n<p>For now, among global rivals, Amazon Web Services (AWS) revealed its Graviton Arm-based chip and Inferentia AI processor in 2018. It announced Trainium for training models in 2020. Together we\u2019re building the new way to cloud,\u201d Kurian said.At Google Cloud Next 2024, the US-headquartered firm also announced monetisation of two of Google Workspace productivity suites offering competitive rates of $10 per user per month with add-on packages. These include new AI Security that allows IT teams to automatically classify and protect sensitive files company-wide in Google Drive and new AI meetings and messaging add-ons, which take notes, provide meeting summaries and translate content into 69 languages including Bengali, Tamil and Telugu.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Microsoft announced that its Copilot would be offered at $30 per user per month to the price of an Office 365 subscription.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe last came together just eight months ago at Next 2023, but since then, we have made well over a year\u2019s progress innovating and transforming with our customers and partners. We have introduced over a thousand product advances across Google Cloud and Workspace,\u201d Kurian said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other key launches<br \/><\/strong><br \/>It also launched its latest AI large language model (LLM) Gemini 1.5 Pro, which is the world&#8217;s largest context window supporting up to 1 million tokens, made available for public preview. Gemini 1.5 Pro, with its enterprise AI platform Vertex AI, can help customers process vast amounts of information in a single stream including 1 hour of video, 11 hours of audio, codebases with over 30,000 lines of code, or over 700,000 words.<\/p>\n<p>Other launches include Gemini Code Assist for developers; expanded cybersecurity capabilities with Gemini in Threat Intelligence; and new enhancements for Gemini in Google Workspace.<\/p>\n<p>Aparna Pappu, GM and vice president of Google Workspace, also announced its AI-powered video creation app for work Google Vids that allows video creation through text and it will sit alongside its other productivity tools like Docs, Sheets and Slides.<\/p>\n<p>Workspace, which according to Google has about three billion users and over 10 million paying customers, was one of the first Google services to lean into the AI boom.<\/p>\n<p>Further, Google Workspace subscribers will soon be able to use voice prompts to kick off the AI-based \u2018Help me write\u2019 feature in Gmail while on the go, for example. In addition, Google is also launching a new feature in Gmail for Workspace that can instantly turn rough email drafts into a more polished email.<\/p>\n<p>The announcements made on Tuesday also sent Google parent Alphabet Inc&#8217;s shares to record highs in intraday trade, pushing its market capitalisation closer to the $2 trillion threshold.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of global cloud market share, AWS tops the list with around 32% share of the worldwide cloud infrastructure services market as of the fourth-quarter ending December 2023. It is followed by Microsoft Azure ranking second at 23% share, while Google stood at around 10% market share, as per market research firms Canalys and Statista.<\/p>\n<p>While advertising still constitutes three-quarters of Alphabet\u2019s revenues, cloud is a growing segment now representing almost 11% of total revenue at $86.31 billion.
