Darshan Thoogudeepa: Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa<\/a>, out on bail in the Renukaswamy murder case<\/a> , has spoken in the public for the first time he was released from jail. In a video addressing his fans on social media, the actor expressed gratitude to his fans for their support while also making a special request for them not to gather in front of his house on his 48th birthday on February 16.<\/p>\n

Darshan was taken into custody on June 11, 2024 after being accused of involvement in the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, allegedly in retaliation for sending inappropriate messages to his co-star Pavithra Gowda<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The actor spent months in judicial custody along with Pavithra and several others. He was granted bail by the High Court on December 13, 2024.<\/p>\n

In the video message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Darshan acknowledged the immense love he had received from his fans during this challenging period. The translation of his caption, which was in Kannada, reads: “My loving request to my beloved celebrities, I\u2019m sorry, I\u2019m not celebrating my birthday this year. Hello, your servant, Darshan.”<\/p>\n


“I would like to thank all my beloved celebrities (fans) for their love and support. Should I say Namaskara or thanks? No matter what I say, it won’t be enough. You have shown so much affection towards me; I don’t know how to repay it,” he stated in the video.<\/p>\n

However, he urged fans not to gather outside his residence for his birthday celebrations, citing health concerns. He revealed thathe has been dealing with persistent pain and requires surgery.<\/p>\n

“But this time, the only problem is my health issue, nothing else. I cannot stand for long and thank everyone… Whenever I take an injection, I feel fine for 15-20 days, but once its effect wears off, the pain returns. I will have to undergo an operation,” he explained.<\/p>\n

He reassured his supporters that he would meet them as soon as he recovered. “I will need to consult my doctors on what to do next. You know about spinal cord problems,” he added.<\/p>\n

The actor also spoke of his professional commitments, thanking film producers who had patiently waited for him amid his legal troubles. “I should not do injustice to them, as they too would have planned other projects. So I\u2019m trying to push myself,” he concluded.<\/p>\n

Darshan further revealed that he had returned the advance he had received from producer Soorappa Babu for an upcoming project. <\/p>\n

Before his arrest, he had been working on the film ‘Devil: The Hero’. His last theatrical release was the 2023 Kannada blockbuster ‘Kaatera’.
