To identify opportunities to connect Indian semiconductor stakeholders to the global semiconductor manufacturing, and design supply chain, India Electronics<\/a> and Semiconductor Association<\/a> (IESA) signed a MoU with SEMI<\/a> in Bengaluru on Wednesday in the presence of more than 200 IESA<\/a> members. <\/p>\n

The two chip associations will connect stakeholders in government, industry, and academia in India<\/a> with their global peers to enable companies to meet, form new partnerships, with a particular focus on talent development. <\/p>\n

The agreement addresses key areas such as manufacturing, enabling policies, design, skilling, research and development, academia, and supply chains. It also aims to harness research data to further these goals.<\/p>\n

The agreement will facilitate joint events in India aimed at talent mapping, skilling, and practical knowledge enabling the sharing of pertinent updates and conducting webinars on policy issues and activities in the semiconductor domain, worldwide. <\/p>\n

The first step in a series of joint activities planned for the coming years is the SEMICON 2024 event in September. SEMI is a global industry association representing over 3,000 member companies in the semiconductor design and manufacturing supply chain. <\/p>\n

Ajit Manocha, president of SEMI said that the combined strength of its global network and IESA\u2019s Indian connections will help to establish India as the next global manufacturing and design hub.<\/p>\n

Ashok Chandak, president of IESA said that the partnership harnesses SEMI\u2019s international network and IESA\u2019s expertise in the Indian electronics, semiconductor, design and manufacturing industry.<\/div>\n
