New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> hailed the contribution of women in various fields, especially in space technology in recent years. In his monthly ‘Mann ki Baat<\/a>‘ address to the nation, he said he will hand over his social media<\/a> site X and Instagram handles to extraordinary women for a day on March 8, the International Women’s Day<\/a>, as a mark of respect for their work in the progress of the country.Modi applauded the achievements in the field of space technology in India, making a special reference to the launch of 100th rocket into space by ISRO<\/a> last month. “This is not just a number; it also reflects our resolve to touch new heights in space science every day.” He mentioned the manufacture of launch vehicles, the success of Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, Aditya L-1 missions, and the unprecedented mission of sending 104 satellites into space at one go with a single rocket. Over the last 10 years alone, around 460 satellites have been launched and this includes many satellites of other countries as well.<\/p>\n

“Another important fact in recent years is that the participation of women is constantly on the rise among our team of space scientists. I am also very happy to see that today the space sector has become a favourite for our youth,” the PM said.<\/p>\n

“If you observe any field, you will find how extensive the contribution of women is. Friends, this time on Women’s Day I am going to embark upon an initiative for a day, which will be dedicated to our nari shakti. On this special occasion, I am going to hand over my social media accounts like X, Instagram to some inspiring ladies of the country,” he said.
