The body of a British businessman who went missing in Kenya more than a week ago was reportedly found in a sack of pineapples in a forest.<\/p>\n

Campbell Scott, believed to be from Dunfermline in Fife, Scotland, was last seen<\/a><\/strong> attending a conference at the JW Marriot Hotel in the capital Nairobi on 16 February.<\/p>\n

His body was discovered in a sack of pineapples in a forest around 66 miles southeast of the city at the weekend, according to local media reports.<\/p>\n

Local administrator Thomas Maitha told Kenya’s The Standard Newspaper that Mr Scott’s eyes had been gouged out and his ears had been cut.<\/p>\n

He said: “(Mr Scott) appeared to have been tortured.<\/p>\n

“The body, which was in bad state, prompted us to escalate the matter further.<\/p>\n

“In addition to the physical injuries, the killer(s) had tied his hands from the back, and stuffed the body in the sack which had been packed with ripe pineapples.”<\/p>\n

CCTV footage reportedly captured him leaving the hotel with a man dressed in a white T-shirt and blue jeans before they got in a taxi on the day he was last seen.<\/p>\n

The taxi driver and a waiter from the club have been arrested by police investigating the death, according to local media.<\/p>\n

Mr Scott worked as a senior director at credit scoring firm Fico and was reportedly on a business trip when he disappeared.<\/p>\n

His employer said police have identified a body and are investigating.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: “Fico can confirm that Nairobi police have identified the body of Campbell Scott, a Fico employee.<\/p>\n

“Campbell went missing last Sunday while on a business trip to Nairobi. We are not sharing further details as the investigation is in the hands of the police.<\/p>\n

“We are devastated by this tragic news. Campbell was a leader in our international Scores business.<\/p>\n

“He joined Fico in 2014 and was instrumental in introducing Scores to new markets and growing our business with existing partnerships.<\/p>\n

“We mourn his passing and will miss his humour and kindness.<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts are with Campbell’s family and friends.”<\/p>\n

A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Kenya and are in contact with the local authorities.”<\/p>\n

Kenya’s National Police Service has been contacted for comment.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
