In recognition of the contribution of Tata Group<\/a> and its Chairman Emeritus, Late Ratan Naval Tata, the Assam Cabinet meeting has approved the naming of the entire area covered by the Assam Semiconductor & Electronics Logistics Park (ASELP), Jagiroad<\/a> Tata OSAT Center, and the proposed township with social infrastructure as Ratan Tata Electronics City<\/a> (RTEC), Jagiroad.<\/p>\n

The state government stated, \u201cIn recognition of the unparalleled contribution of the Tata Group and its Chairman Emeritus, Late Ratan Naval Tata (the first Assam Vaibhav awardee), the Cabinet has approved the naming of the entire area covered by the Assam Semiconductor & Electronics Logistics Park (ASELP), Jagiroad Tata OSAT Center, and the proposed township with social infrastructure as Ratan Tata Electronics City (RTEC), Jagiroad.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cabinet has passed a resolution expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his guidance and support to Assam in successfully organizing the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To promote the usage of bamboo in the construction industry, the Cabinet has approved the inclusion of Engineered Bamboo Composite Materials in the Schedule of Rates (SOR) in PWD (Building & NH). PWD has been directed to include at least 5% of bamboo-based material in the construction of new public buildings.<\/p>\n

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently said that Tata Group has announced plans to establish a large-scale manufacturing facility for electronics and mobile technology in the State, with an investment of Rs 30,000 crore.<\/p>\n


The Tata project, set to be developed over the next five years, is confirmed by Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, who, during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, revealed that Assam would host the new mobile manufacturing unit.Chandrasekaran announced, “We would invest in another large-scale manufacturing facility in electronics and mobile technology in Assam in the coming five years, which will have a similar investment like that of the Jagiroad semiconductor plant and will create more than 30,000 jobs.”Tata Group is already setting up a semiconductor packaging and testing<\/a> unit in Jagiroad, Morigaon district. The semiconductor plant is set to be India’s first indigenous chip assembly and testing facility.<\/p>\n

Tata Power<\/a> integrated power companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Advantage Assam 2.0 to further its commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development in the state.<\/p>\n

Tata Power<\/a> has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam Government to support up to 5000 MW of renewable and clean energy projects, comprising Solar, Wind, Hydro, and Energy Storage, with Rs 30,000 crore investment over the next 5 years.<\/p>\n

Tata Power\u2019s subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd., has signed one more MoU with Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to drive renewable energy adoption and enhance energy efficiency across the state. This agreement focuses on scaling up rooftop solar projects under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGY), while also contributing 3,000 direct job opportunities, reinforcing Assam\u2019s clean energy transition and economic growth.
